Sebaugh is a retired teacher from Jackson High School. Joan is retired from Meadow Heights Elementary School.

They have three children, Jeanine (Homer) Guy of San Antonio, Texas, Steven (Linda) Sebaugh of Jackson, and Cheryl Sebaugh of Cape Girardeau. They have two grandchildren, Scott and Kate Sebaugh.
