Mr. and Mrs. William C. Stone Sr. of Cape Girardeau celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a dinner May 21, 2011, at Delmonico's in Jackson. Hosts were their children. The couple also took a trip to Las Vegas.

Stone and Wilma F. Petzoldt were married May 19, 1951, in Pocahontas, Ark.

The couple has five children, Mr. and Mrs. Michael Harrison, Diana Fox, Mr. and Mrs. William Stone Jr., Mr. and Mrs. Gary Laurentius, and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Stone. They have 15 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Stone retired from Perry County School District, where he taught welding 16 1/2 years. He was previously in law enforcement and construction. Mrs. Stone is a registered nurse and retired from Chateau Girardeau Health Center in 1999.
