Real Basic Instincts camps: Real Baseball Instincts in Jackson is offering fall hitting camps featuring St. Louis Cardinals minor leaguer Jeremy Patton, a Southeast Missouri native. Basketball
Women's breakfast: The Southeast Missouri State women's basketball team and the Hoop Troop, a new support group for the program, have partnered with My Daddy's Cheesecake to host a free monthly breakfast with the Redhawks this season. Beginning Oct. 4 at 7 a.m., Southeast coach Ty Margenthaler, along with other team representatives, welcome all Redhawk fans to start their day at My Daddy's Cheesecake (265 S. Broadview in Cape Girardeau) and get updated on the women's basketball program. Fans in attendance will receive free coffee and breakfast. This event will run on the first Thursday of each month until the end of the women's basketball season in March. The other dates are Nov. 1, Dec. 6, Jan. 3, Feb. 7 and March 7.
Golf
Benefit Golf Tournament: The Community Counseling Center Foundation will host its 13th annual Benefit Golf Tournament on Oct. 5 at Cape Girardeau Country Club. Justice Jog: The 4-mile Justice Jog will take place at 4 p.m. Oct. 7 at pavilion No. 4 at Jackson City Park. There also will be a quarter-mile youth run, which will start at 5 p.m. Registration: splitmastertiming.com.
Steps for Youth Justice run: The 2-mile Steps for Youth Justice run will take place at 8 a.m. Oct. 6 at pavilion No. 2 in Jackson City Park. Registration: splitmastertiming.com.
Bootheel Counseling run/walk: The Bootheel Counseling Services will hold it Goblin Gallop, a 5K/1-mile run and walk Oct. 27 in Sikeston, Mo. The race will start at the Bootheel Counseling Services at 760 Plantation Blvd. Entry fee for the 5K is $20 before Oct. 12 and $25 after. Entry fee is $15 for 1-mile run/walk.
