Southeast volleyball drops season opener
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. -- Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team lost its season-opening match Friday, falling to Arkansas 30-26, 30-18, 28-30, 30-22 in the Southwest Missouri State Tournament.
Bobbi Carlile led the Otahkians with 19 kills. Sarah Frost added 12 and Jill Waltsak 10.
Suzanne Gundlach had 16 digs while setter Emily Scannell recorded 51 assists and three service aces.
Jennifer Haaser paced Arkansas with 17 kills.
The Otahkians play two tournament matches today, against host Southwest Missouri State and Utah State.
Notre Dame softball knocks off Perryville
PERRYVILLE, Mo. -- Notre Dame High School's softball team improved to 4-0 Friday with a 7-2 victory over Perryville (0-2).
Lindsay Reinagel has pitched all four victories. Friday, she allowed three hits, struck out 10 and walked two.
Notre Dame had 10 hits, led by Whitney Ostendorf with two. Sara Berkbigler drove in two runs.--From staff reports
