Southeast volleyball team beats Eastern Ill.
CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Southeast Missouri State University's volleyball team defeated Eastern Illinois 30-21, 28-30, 30-27, 30-25 in Ohio Valley Conference action Tuesday night.
The Otahkians improved to 8-9 overall and 3-2 in OVC play. The Panthers are 6-12 and 1-4 as they suffered their fifth straight loss.
Emily Johnson led the Otahkians with 21 kills. Sarah Frost had 14, Bobbi Carlile 11 and Jessica Houpt 10.
Johnson also led the way in digs with 17, followed by Suzanne Gundlach with 15, Carlile with 14 and Jill Miller with 12. Emily Scannell recorded 59 assists.
Southeast returns home to face Tennessee Tech at HouckFieldHouse on Friday night.
Stubenrauch among horseshoe event winners
Doris Stubenrauch helped lead two teams to wins over the weekend in the SEMO Horsehoe Association.
In Sunday's Tournament of Champions in Scott City, Stubenrauch and Randy Grady won with Cori Stoverink and Kory Kluesner second. Third was Dan Elfrink and Ron LeGrand.
In Saturday's events at Kelso Country Club, Stubenrauch teamed with Stoverink for the win. Rose Kern and Mike Miller were second with Larry Burford and Danny Williams third.
