Dalhousie golf team defeats Eagle Lake

The Dalhousie Golf Club team defeated Eagle Lake 22-2 at Dalhousie recently.

There were six matches of nine holes of 4-ball, six matches of nine holes of Chapman and 18 holes of singles play.

Dalhousie team members were Ben Canirell, Cord Dombrowski, Brevin Giebler, Brian Sheehan, Tom Hamilton, Ron Seabaugh, Greg Howard, Ken Swinford, Scott Roe, J.P. Arpin, Mark Unger and Brian Johnson.

Elfrink, Vandeven team for horseshoes win

Todd Elfrink and John Vandeven teamed to win the Southeast Missouri Horseshoe Association event Sunday at the Backyard Horseshoe Club in Glenallen, Mo.

Darrel Vandeven and Joe Keller were second, and Danny Williams and Carolyn Schreckenburg were third.

Kiefner, Layton, Michel take first

LouAnne Kiefner, Mary Sue Layton and Betty Michel teamed to finish first at the Memorial/Rally for the Cure scramble golf tournament recently.

The team of Carol Miller, Sue Scala and Robyn Young took second.

Marcia Wagner had the straightest and longest drive on hole No. 9. Closest to the hole winners were Betty Michel (No. 2), Priscilla Kirby (No. 8), Marcia Wagner (No. 11) and Judi Brey (No. 13).

Sheehan scores ace at Dalhousie

Cape Girardeau's Brian Sheehan used a 5-iron to record a hole in one on the 218-yard No. 8 hole at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Brevin Giebler witnessed the shot.

It was Sheehan's second career hole in one.

Lape sinks second ace

Danny Lape recorded his second career hole in one Sunday, acing the 157-yard, par-3 No. 13 at Dalhousie Golf Club.

Lape, who used a 6-iron, was playing with Steve Matthews and Jim Hux.

Parmly, Seabaugh, Coad, Kennard win

The team of Terri Parmly, Phyliss Seabaugh, Jennifer Coad and Chris Kennard shot a 71 to win the Ladies Celebrity Scramble at Dalhousie Golf Club recently.

The team of Alice Temm, Ann Dombrowski and Barb Stribling shot a 72 for second place.

Auto Tire results

Tommy Worley won the Outlaw Sprint Cars on Friday at the Auto Tire and Parts Racepark in Benton, Mo.

Larry Hall was the winner in the Modifieds, Chine Myers held off Mark Todd for the win in the C&S Contstruction Purestreet, Troy Naeger won in the Aries Plumbing Sportsman series and Brad Paquet was the Modlites winner.

Author searches for Jackson football stories

Nic Antoine, author of The History of Football Perry County, has started writing his second book.

The book will deal with the football history of Jackson, Mo., particularly Jackson High School.

Antoine is seeking information, memorabilia and any other materials that would be useful for the book. He wants to speak with current and former players, coaches, faculty and fans of Jackson High School football.

The book is expected to be released for sale in conjunction with the opening of the 2008 high school football season.
