Scott City's volleyball team used a balanced attack to ease past Woodland 15-5, 15-3 on Wednesday night.

"We got a very balanced attack," Scott City coach Laura Ort said. Scott City, No. 8 in the SEMO Top 10 released today, improved to 15-4-2.

Amanda O'Brien served the first 11 points for the Rams before Woodland finally forced a side out. Woodland (0-14) then scored its first point of the set on a serve by Enneth Ebert. The next few points went back and forth before Scott City ended the set on a strong note with an ace serve by Megan Ressel.

"We played pretty well," Ort said. "We hit better and we certainly served better than we have been."

The Rams started the second set on a serving spree again. Ressel served six points in a row to set Scott City on track for the two-set sweep.

Amanda O'Brien served the final four points to close the match. The Rams missed only one serve during the match.

Amanda O'Brien and Megan Ressel led a list of strong individual games for the Rams. O'Brien had two kills and seven assists while Ressel added eight assists.

"Our setters are doing a better job of using different hitters and spreading the ball out," Ort said.

Woodland was led by Kyla Hahn, who had three digs.
