The Kohlfeld Scorpions Rugby Club pulled off a big upset last weekend by beating the St. Louis Bombers 39-38.

The Bombers are perennial Missouri Union powers and the Scorpions had not beaten them in several years.

Scorpion scorers included Doug Childers, Marty Hendershott and two trys each by Dan Grimm and Freddy Escobar. Sean Hagan provided three conversions and one penalty kick.

Trailing 14-12 at halftime, the Scorpions rallied for a 26-14 lead early in the second half and the Bombers could never regain the lead.

The Scorpions' next home game will be April 24 against the Paducah (Ky.) Flood.
