Senior midfielder Nick Barnes broke a scoreless deadlock 13 minutes into the first overtime to lift Central into the championship game of the Class 2 District 1 tournament with a 1-0 victory over Sikeston on Tuesday in Farmington, Mo.

Barnes took a pass from Chandler Bagley and fired a shot from the top of the 18-yard box.

"It was back and forth," Central coach Dan Martin said. "Both teams had chances, and we were fortunate to get one of them."

Both teams had nine shots. Central goalkeeper Austin Bagley made seven saves.

"There were three or four threatening balls he came up big on," Martin said.

Central (13-9) will face top-seeded Perryville in Thursday's 6 p.m. championship game.

The Pirates defeated fifth-seeded Farmington 1-0 in the other semifinal.

Oakville 5, Jackson 1

Top-seeded Oakville ended Jackson's season in the semifinals of the Class 3 District 1 tournament.

Fifth-seeded Jackson finished with a 10-11-1 record.
