The Central tennis team edged Whitfield Academy 5-4 on Saturday to improve to 10-2. The Tigers won three of the six singles matches and two of three doubles contests. David Deisher and David Berry were double winners for Central.

Meadow Heights tallied a combined two hits in two losses in a wooden bat tournament in Chester, Ill.
The Panthers (8-9) lost 3-0 to Chester, then fell 2-0 to Christ Our Savior.
Tyler Wagner had the Panthers' lone hit in the first game, and Derek Hanners singled in the second game.
Hanners and Heath Fulton led a pitching effort that surrendered just two hits and one earned run in two games.

Jeremy Limbaugh struck out nine batters in five innings of relief pitching to lead Advance to a home win.
Limbaugh replaced starter Trent Moses after the second inning and allowed two hits and no walks.
Limbaugh also had three hits and three RBI for the Hornets (10-3).

Jackson reached the championship by defeating Sikeston 13-3 in the semifinal round. Austin Neal earned the pitching win in that game.

Jackson was first with 159 points; the Tigers had 138.
In the eighth-grade meet, Central's Sadie Pittman won the 200-meter run in 27.82 seconds and the triple jump at 31 feet, 4 inches. Pittman also teamed with Erica Childs, Jessica Harris and Tasha Terry to win the 800 relay in 1:52.90. Central seventh-grader Stephanie Farrar won the 100 hurdles in 17.53.
* The Central seventh-grade boys track and field team placed second at the Jackson Invitational, and the eighth-grade team finished third.
Central's seventh-grade winners were Matt Deisher in the pole vault (7-0), Kevin Flesher in the shot put (34-2) and Zach Horrell in the discus (111-10).
Tesean Jackson won the 200 in 24.88 during the eighth-grade portion, and Chris Swader won the pole vault with a school and meet record of 12-0.
