The Cape Girardeau Central High boys tennis team graduated four seniors from last year's 8-4 team and it appears coach Bud Craven is looking at a rebuilding season this spring.

"We lost four of our top players from last year so this will likely be a rebuilding year," Craven said.

At least Craven has a solid building block in Wade Russell. A senior, Russell has been the Tigers' top player the past few years and will be counted on to carry the load in his final year.

"Wade's been our No. 1 player the past three years," said Craven. "He's won some tournaments up in St. Louis and he should be our strongest player."

Other seniors being counted on for leadership are lefty Vijay Dahya and Jeremy Driskell. Junior Aaron Moore and sophomore Ben Roeger will also look to make an impact this year.

Central opens its season by hosting DeSoto Tuesday.
