The Advance golf team claimed the Class 1 District 1 title by a stroke on Monday at Crowley Ridge Recreational Center in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Junior Brian Whitson led Advance with an 11-over-par 81, while teammates Spence Lorch (85), Grant Woodfin (87) and Carson Miles (95) made up the remainder of the Hornets' winning 348 total.
Gainesville was just one stroke behind, while it was another 16 strokes to third-place Bloomfield. St. Vincent finished with a 427 total to place fifth.
The top two teams and top 15 individuals not on those teams qualify for next week's Class 1 Sectional 1 tournament at Dalhousie Golf Club.
St. Vincent did qualify four individuals for the sectional tournament and will be able to compete as a team. Andrew Mudd (103), Nick Cissell (104), Ethan Holdman (108) and Brett Lottes (112) all qualified for the Indians.
Bloomfield's Andrew Northern shot a 75 to post a one-stroke victory in the individual competition over Gainesville's Drew Ritter.

The Saxony Lutheran boys golf team finished with a 407 total to place fourth at Terre du Lac Country Club in Bonne Terre, Missouri.
The Crusaders advanced three individuals to the sectional meet. Karsten Short shot a 19-over-par 91 to lead Saxony, while Ben Daniel (102) and Anton Rhodes (102) both advanced.
Kelly's Jacob Riley shot a 92 to also advance.

Notre Dame saw its run of four consecutive district titles ended, but the Bulldogs, who finished third as a team, advanced to the sectional round by qualifying four individuals at Crown Pointe Golf Course in Farmington, Missouri.
Central, led by a 4-over-par 76 and a third-place finish by junior Kobe Franklin, finished fourth with a 347, finishing six shots ahead of Sikeston in the 10-team field. Franklin finished two shots behind medalist Nicholas Westrich of Farmington. The Tigers will send two more individuals to the Class 3 Sectional 1 tournament May 11 at Fox Haven Country Club in Sikeston, Missouri. Luke Kinder shot an 81 to tie for sixth, while Christian Retter qualified with a 93.
Jonathan Bell led Notre Dame with a 5-over-par 77 to place fourth as Notre Dame finished with a 339 total, 20 shots behind first-place Farmington and four shots behind runner-up Park Hills Central. Trent Schumer (83), Jon Renner (85) and Chandler Dorris (94) rounded out Notre Dame's team score. All four qualified for the sectional tournament.
The Bulldogs were without junior Jack Litzelfelner, a two-time all-state player and 2013 Class 3 state champion. Litzelfelner has been suspended from the team as disciplinary action for violating school rules.
