Let Brad be Brad

I THINK Missouri's Gary Pinkel is a pretty good head coach. He's recruited some good talent and has instilled discipline on the football team. However, I question his offensive philosophy. At best, Brad Smith is a marginal passer, yet he threw 56 times against Nebraska with little success. With Smith's exceptional running ability, think of the threat he would be if Missouri ran the option. I don't claim to be an expert, but it's pretty obvious Pinkel is emphasizing his quarterback's weak suit and ignoring his strong suit.

Moving up in class

I JUST read the article about class 1 and 2 volleyball sectionals. Bismarck was not making its debut in Class 2 this year. We have always been Class 2 with the exception of 2002 and 2003 seasons. In 2000 we won a quarterfinal match against Notre Dame (now in Class 3), and in 2001 we lost to Notre Dame in the quarterfinal. We have had four quarterfinal appearances -- two were in Class 2 and two in Class 1.
