Jacksonville (Ala.) State completed a three-game weekend sweep of host Southeast Missouri State University, winning 9-5 Sunday afternoon at the Southeast Softball Complex.

The Gamecocks improved to 29-16 overall and 8-6 in Ohio Valley Conference play. The Otahkians fell to 11-27 and 6-7.

JSU had five home runs, including two each by Megan Jezierski and Janae Bonin. Jezierski had three hits and four RBIs. The Gamecocks had eight hits.

For the third straight game, the Otahkians outhit the team ranked third nationally in batting average. Southeast had 11 hits, led by Jamie Birk, Kelly Birk and Victoria Torrez with two each. Jamie Birk homered.

But the Otahkians were hampered by three errors, giving them 10 in the series. Amy Fahnestock was the losing pitcher.
