Sophomore Kayli Tanner belted a home run and drove in two runs to lead the second-seeded Bernie softball team to an 8-4 victory in nine innings over top-seeded Advance in the championship game of the Stoddard County Activities Association Conference Tournament in Advance, Missouri.
Blakely Bradshaw got the win in the circle for Bernie (10-4). The Mules erupted for four runs in the ninth inning and held the Hornets, the defending tournament champions, scoreless in the bottom of the ninth for the win.
Hannah Clark sustained the loss. Kendra Sokolowski hit a double and batted in two runs for Advance (11-3).

The Pirates upped their overall record to 13-2 and notched their first conference victory with the win on the road.

Notre Dame's Brendan Boswell and Alex Rivas were the lone victors as the Bulldogs fell to the Mules in a rescheduled match from Tuesday that was rained out.
