Lane Henson hit a double among his three hits and had an RBI.

Austin Copeland went the distance on the mound for Chaffee (11-10, 3-2 Scott-Mississippi Conference). He allowed one earned run and recorded five strikeouts.

Jake Perkins singled home the other run for the Red Devils.

Seth Johnson took the loss for East Prairie (7-9, 1-3). He pitched 6 1/3 innings and gave up two runs (one earned) on 10 hits. He struck out five and walked two.

Dustin Bryars drove in the Eagles' lone run.

Brandon Abner tripled and drove in two runs to lead the Cubs in the five-inning road rout.

Bobby Wright, the winning pitcher, also doubled. Wright threw four hitless innings, sriking out nine and walking one.

Peyton Maddox added a double and Jesse Smith had two RBIs for Bell City (16-2).

Garrett Thele took the loss for Leopold (3-12). He pitched 3 2/3 innings and gave up 10 runs (seven earned) on nine hits. He struck out three and walked three.

Blake Eeftink had the lone hit for the Wildcats.

Rellergert struck out four and walked three for St. Vincent (10-5, 4-1 JCAA Conference-Small Schools). He also had three RBIs and David Camarillo added two RBIs.

Casey Hines sustained the loss for Jefferson (9-10, 2-2). He pitched three innings and gave up four runs (two earned) on six hits. He struck out one and walked one.

Leopold 7, Greenville 6

Ashlyn Bucher blasted a two-run home run in the third inning and also doubled as the Wildcats edged the Bears by one run to finish the regular season on a high note with the conference victory at home.

Lexi Vandeven recorded her 14th win of the season in the circle for Leopold (15-1, 4-0 Mississippi Valley Conference). She pitched a complete game, struck out seven and walked four.

Leah Landewee also belted a solo home run for the Wildcats, the Mississippi Valley Conference regular-season spring softball champions.

Emily Duncan was the losing pitcher. She also threw a complete game, struck out three and walked four to pace Greenville (6-8, 2-1).

The Wildcats are seeded third in the Class 1 District 4 Tournament at Scott City and begin play at 5 p.m. Tuesday against second-seeded Advance (16-3). The Hornets dealt Leopold its only loss during the regular season on April 8.

Bella Bowers blasted a solo home run in the second inning as the Rams wrapped up their regular season with a five-inning thrashing of the Blue Jays.

Jamie Glastetter was the winning pitcher and also doubled. She threw a complete game and gave up two earned runs with six strikeouts and three walks.

Liz Hensley and Skylar Rhymer added a double apiece for Scott City (15-6).

Jessica Hahs sustained the loss in the circle for Oak Ridge (7-10). She also had two of the Blue Jays' four hits.

Scott City hosts the Class 1 District 4 Tournament, which starts Monday. The Rams are seeded first and will face the winner of Monday's quarterfinal between fourth-seeded Woodland and fifth-seeded Scott County Central at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Oak Ridge is seeded fourth in the Class 1 District 5 Tournament. The Blue Jays open district play at 4:30 p.m. Monday against fifth-seeded Kingston. The winner will face top-seeded host West County at 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Parkway South's Victoria MacIntosh netted an unassisted goal with approximately 1 1/2 minutes left as the Patriots (8-7-1) dealt the Indians their second loss of the season.

Goalkeeper Sarah Blanton made two saves for Jackson (14-2-1).

Poplar Bluff 1, Kelly 0

The Hawks fell to the Mules at home.

Kelly dropped to 5-8-1, while Poplar Bluff improved to 7-11.

TRACK & FIELD

Chaffee Invitational

Dakaria Johnson posted first-place times in the 100 and 200 meters to lead the Kelly girls to a first-place finish in the Chaffee Invitational on Thursday.

The Hawks finished seven points ahead of Woodland in the team standings. Freshman Krista Rhodes won the 400 for the Cardinals, and Cheyenne Wells took first in the 1,600 and 3,200. Host Chaffee finished seven points behind Hayti to finish fourth overall. Junior Julia Sutterfield won the discus and shot put for the Red Devils.

On the boys' side, Woodland edged Kelly by one point to take third place. Woodland senior Garret Reynolds won the 3,200 and finished second in the 1,600 behind Zalma junior Alex Steinberg.

Maurice Davis took first in the 100 and 200 and Dalton Huffman swept the jumps for the Hawks. Malden placed first overall in the boys' division.
