Jackson junior right-hander Michael Houchin held North County to two hits and the offense supported him with a run in every inning as Jackson posted a 10-0 home win in six innings Friday. Chaffee 8, Puxico 6

The Red Devils withstood a four-run rally by Puxico in the bottom of the seventh inning to remain unbeaten with a victory over the Indians in the Chaffee Round Robin Tournament.

The Red Devils scored eight runs on five hits in improving their record to 11-0. Cody Payne went 3 for 3 with a double to lead the offense. Jordan Kinder added a double and had two RBIs. Devon Yahn also had two RBIs for the Red Devils.

Winning pitcher Storm Estes threw all seven innings. He struck out five, allowed six hits and walked three batters.

The Eagles pounded out 14 hits in a five-inning road victory over the Blue Jays.

Ben Heuring and Drew Mitchem both went 3 for 4, while Dustin Gebhardt and Preston Hahn both were 2 for 3. Gebhardt, Jacob Priggel, and winning pitcher Thomas Trankler each had a double for Oran (6-3).

Trankler allowed five hits over five innings. He struck out three and walked two.

Jake LeGrand took the loss for Oak Ridge.

Pitcher Brad Freed recorded three strikeouts to secure the victory for Bernie (4-3).

Dawson Mayo also hit a home run for Advance (3-4).

West County's Courtney Callahan belted a home run as the host Bulldogs routed the Panthers in three innings.

Hannah Hollock was the winning pitcher and also tripled. She threw a complete game and had five strikeouts and one walk.

Bailey Marks added a triple for West County (7-1).

Twilight Relays

Jackson's Courtney Hahs finished first in the 1,600 in 6 minutes, 2 seconds to win one of the two open events at the Twilight Relays in Sikeston.

The 100-meter dash was the only other open event at the meet, which combined performances for team scores in all the other events. There was no team scoring.

The Jackson girls won the 3,200 relay, while Central won the pole vault (16 feet, 6 inches) and distance medley (14:48).

On the boys' side, Central senior Lorenzen Brookins turned in the top throw in the shot put with a throw of 44-10 1/2 inches to lead the Tigers to a second-place finish (116 1/2) in the event.

Jackson won the 110 hurdles (56.23).
