DEXTER — Kennett’s season came to an end on Thursday in the Class 3 District 1 quarterfinals at Bearcat Events Center.

Third-seeded Fredericktown swept No. 6 Kennett by scores of 25-4, 25-12, 25-12, bringing the Indians final record to 10-14-4.

Meanwhile, the Blackcats (23-6-2) advanced to Monday’s semifinal versus Saxony Lutheran. First serve is set for 6:30 p.m.

In the other half of the bracket, top-seeded Cape Notre Dame Regional will square off with Dexter (17-13), a three-set winner (25-17, 25-16, 25-16) over Doniphan also on Thursday.

This was a rebuilding season for Kennett, with no juniors or seniors whatsoever on the roster.

All volleyball matches across Missouri this week were played using the new Mikasa VFC 1000 Performance ball, which will be used for all playoff contests.

Delta earns second win

HAYTI — Delta C-7 closed out the regular season on Wednesday by beating host Hayti in four sets by scores of 25-22, 23-25, 26-24, 25-10. This marked the Chargers second win of the season.
