Leopold's baseball team took a cue from the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, scoring seven runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie the game, then scoring a run in the eighth to complete the rally for a 17-16 win over visiting Meadow Heights. Matt Stoverink pitched the eighth inning for the Wildcats, then scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch after getting a one-out double. The wild pitch actually came on the third strike, which would have been the third out, but the throw came home...

Matt Stoverink pitched the eighth inning for the Wildcats, then scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch after getting a one-out double. The wild pitch actually came on the third strike, which would have been the third out, but the throw came home.

Stoverink was 5-for-6 at the plate and had three RBIs. Kelly Stause added four hits and Victor Vandeven had two for Leopold, which improved to 8-5 with its fourth straight win.

Terry Wagner had two hits for Meadow Heights.

Anthony Wulfers allowed just four hits in seven innings to pick up his first win on the mound in a home victory.

Blake Essner led a nine-hit attack with three for Notre Dame (11-6). Shane Menz and Derek Ressel had two hits apiece.

Brian Buchheit had two hits for St. Vincent (5-7).

Trent Moses struck out eight for the win and added three hits. Cody Roper also had three hits, including two doubles. Jeremy Limbaugh, Cory Roper, James Masters and Rusty Hendrix had two hits apiece.

Peter Winningham struck out 14 and walked just one in a complete game victory on the road.

The Crusaders (8-4) had 10 hits, led by Alex Jauch with three. Kory Mueller added two hits for Saxony Lutheran.

Chaffee's comeback bid fell short in an eight-inning home loss.

The Red Devils (4-10) scored three runs in the sixth inning to tie the game at 5-5. The Red Devils then led off the seventh with a double but failed to capitalize.

Alex Orr allowed just three earned runs in 7 2/3 innings for Chaffee. Chris Hanback and Jeff Daugherty had two hits apiece for Chaffee.

Dallas Tew pitched six scoreless innings to lift Kelly back to .500 with a home win.

Tew allowed seven hits, struck out seven and did not walk a batter. Caleb Daughhetee added two hits and pitched the seventh, as Kelly improved to 7-7.

Trevor Irwin and Chase Seyer had two hits apiece for Oran (9-5). Seyer took the loss after going four innings.

Jordan Felter had the big blow with a three-run triple in Kelly's four-run fourth. Spencer Ayers had the other RBI as Kelly scored all four runs with two outs.
