LEOPOLD -- Leopold High's volleyball team improved to 15-10-1 and ended the regular season on a high note by beating visiting Notre Dame 15-10, 15-13 Thursday night.

Leopold's Emily Broshuis had nine kills, Gwen Vandeven six kills and 10 digs, Hannah Jansen eight kills and eight digs and Megan Keith 12 assists.

Leopold's JV team won 15-5-, 15-9.

Advance 15-16

Cape Central 11-14

Cape Central fell to visiting Advance in the final regular-season match for both teams.

Katie Cozby had five kills for Central, now 5-15-2. Heather Duschell had four blocks, Jessica Balogh added three kills and Jessica Sims was credited with strong setting.

Central's JV prevailed.

Bell City 15-15

Oran 6-2

ORAN -- Courtney Brockmeyer posted 14 kills as Bell City stopped host Oran Thursday night in the regular-season finale for both squads.

The Lady Cubs are now 17-8. Jessica Shelby totaled nine kills and Kelly Steiner added 12 assists.

Meadow Heights 15-15

St. Vincent 12-10

MEADOW HEIGHTS -- Meadow Heights advanced to 21-6 with its straight-game win over visiting St. Vincent Thursday night as both squads closed out the regular season.

Meadow Heights' Rachael Yount tallied nine kills, four service aces and 18 digs and Emily Sewell had seven kills and 27 assists. Desiree Yamnitz totaled 43 assists and Brandi Bollinger added 20 digs and six kills.

St. Vincent (10-14-4) got eight points and 10 assists from Valerie Klaus, 15 assists from Casey Kirn and 10 kills and six blocks from Jessica Lakenan.

Meadow Heights' JV team won 15-11, 15-11 and concluded the season with a record of 18-2-1.

Jackson sweeps Cape

Jackson posted two wins over Cape Central Thursday, 28-18 in the eighth grade game and 28-6 in the freshmen contest.

Touchdowns for Central's eighth grade were by Jeremiah Dukes on a 67-yard kickoff return and by Chris Freeman on a 33-yard interception return.

The lone TD for Central's freshmen came on Brian Crain's 5-yard run.

Central's eighth grade is now 0-5 while the freshmen are 0-7.
