Former local girls high school basketball coach Randy White recently was inducted into the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame during a ceremony at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame in Springfield, Mo.
White compiled a 467-231 record during stints at Scott City and Delta.
He led teams to six conference and 11 district titles while directing squads to the final four in 2003, 2006 and 2008.
White led Delta to nine district titles -- seven consecutive district titles from the 2001-2002 season to 2007-08 and back-to-back titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12. The Bobcats finished second in Class 1 in 2008, and had third-place finished in 2003 and 2006.
* Notre Dame senior Bryce Domjan has signed a letter of intent to run cross country at Valparaiso. Domjan has run cross country and track for the Bulldogs.
* Jackson senior Cody Harris has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Shawnee Community College. Harris, a third baseman for the Indians, has 22 RBIs and is batting .338 with a .407 OBP this season.
* Jackson senior Kyle James has signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Shawnee Community College. James a first baseman for Jackson, is hitting .314 and has a .455 OBP this season.
* Central senior Chelsea Vinson has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Three Rivers Community College in Poplar Bluff, Mo.
Vinson missed most of her senior season after undergoing knee surgery. Vinson, who averaged 14.7 points and 8 rebounds as junior, played in Central's first four games and was MVP of the Northwest Invitational before having surgery on an injury incurred in the offseason.
* Central senior Tyler Anderson will play soccer at Union University in Jackson, Tenn., after recently signing a letter of intent. Anderson, who was a captain and played defense for the Tigers, was an All-SEMO Conference selection last fall.
* Scott City senior Forrest Copeland will play baseball at Lindenwood College in Belleville, Ill., after signing a letter of intent. A second baseman, Copeland is hitting .290 with seven stolen bases for the Rams.
* Central, Jackson, Notre Dame, Perryville Saxony Lutheran, St. Vincent and Kelly golfers will compete in sectional golf tournaments Monday. Bent Creek in Jackson will be the site of the Class 3 sectional that will include Notre Dame and Perryville.
