~ St. Vincent's Waylon Richardet picked up his second football honor this week.

St. Vincent senior Waylon Richardet made his second all-state team in less than a week, as four area players made the Missouri Football Coaches Association all-state list.

Richardet, a first-team defensive lineman, was joined on the Class 1 all-state team by teammate Ben Buchheit. Buchheit, also a senior, was a first-team offensive lineman.

The Indians finished the season 7-3 and fell to eventual district champion Valle in Week 9. Richardet finished with 81 tackles and six sacks, while Buchheit helped St. Vincent gain more than 2,000 yards on the ground.

Jackson senior Cole Jansen, the SEMO North Division lineman of the year, made first-team on the defensive line in Class 5. Jansen finished with 50 tackles, 13 for loss and five sacks.

Central senior Ty Craft was the other area all-state member. Craft was chosen as a first-team defensive back in Class 4. For the season, Craft finished with more than 100 tackles and added 34 receptions for 453 yards.

All-region soccer

Central's quarterfinal appearance this year netted the Tigers six players on the Class 3 Missouri State High School Soccer Coaches Association Southeast all-region boys soccer team.

Senior defender Cody Gaither, midfielder Tyson Whiteside, goalie Jordan Young, forward Lance Altenthal and defender Thomas Keener made the team along with junior forward Matt Hester made the team.

Central finished 22-6-1.

Junior forward Chris Shelton and junior defender Chris Crosset made the team from Jackson.

Notre Dame had five players on the Class 2 all-region team: Seniors Frankie Ellis, Nathan Kolda, Jacob Wengert, Andrew Buelow and junior Jack Wedemeier.

All-JCC volleyball

St. Vincent had two players named to the all-Jefferson County Conference first team for volleyball in the small schools division. The Squaws also had a second-team selection and an honorable mention choice.

Kelsey Kutz and Kelsey Cissell were first-team selections, Alaina Ernst made the second-team as the defensive specialist, and Brooke Hayden was an honorable mention choice.

Perryville senior Sarah Roth and junior Jocelyn Moll were second-team selections in the large schools division. Seniors Lindsey Lappe and Jennifer Ponder were on the honorable mention list. Senior Megan Roth was honorable mention for defensive specialist.

All-JCC softball

Perryville had three players honored on the all-Jefferson County Conference softball team.

Krista Miesner was a first-team catcher for the Pirates, and Alyssa Bauwens was the first-team utility player. Amber Hacker made the second team as an infielder.

For St. Vincent, Theresa Mattingly was a second-team infielder and an honorable mention catcher.

All-state softball

The Southeast Missourian last month reported three players from the state runner-up Notre Dame softball team recently earned first-team honors in Class 3. The name of the organization -- the Missouri High School Fastpitch Coaches Association -- was listed incorrectly, and a Chaffee player who earned Class 1 honors was omitted from the story.

Chaffee senior Mindy Hendrix, who was a second-team all-state infielder in Class 1.

From Notre Dame, junior pitcher Beth Schnurbusch, junior first baseman Kristain Burger and freshman outfielder Erika Reinagel were first-team choices.
