Ashley Reinagel doubled with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning to score two runs as Notre Dame defeated Twin Rivers 3-2 Tuesday in high school softball action. Twin Rivers (15-4) had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth, but Jessica Serratti and Katlyn Kelly opened the bottom half of the inning with singles. Ashley Reinagel doubled with one out in the bottom of the eighth inning to score two runs as Notre Dame defeated Twin Rivers 3-2 Tuesday in high school softball action.

Twin Rivers (15-4) had taken a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth, but Jessica Serratti and Katlyn Kelly opened the bottom half of the inning with singles. Jennifer Stout moved the runners up with a sacrifice bunt to set up Reinagel's winning hit.

Kelly had two of Notre Dame's six hits.

Twin Rivers took a 1-0 lead in the fourth but Notre Dame (10-12) tied it 1-1 in the fifth.

Ramona Blankenship pocketed the win, pitching all eight innings. She allowed seven hits, struck out seven and walked three.

Notre Dame won the JV game 4-2.

Jackson 10, Perryville 9

PERRYVILLE -- Jackson scored twice in the top of the ninth inning and held off Perryville in the home half to improve to 16-8 on the season.

Emily Sander and Megan Kuntze each had bases-loaded RBI singles in the ninth for Jackson.

Amanda Bollinger paced the Lady Indians' 15-hit attack with three hits, including a double and two RBIs. Stacey DeClue and Lindsey Meyr each had two hits with Meyr knocking in two runs.

Samantha Rehkop belted a two-run homer for Perryville.

Beth Becker notched the win in relief of Gretchen King. Becker, who entered in the fifth, allowed just two hits in five innings.

BOYS SOCCER

Carbondale (Ill.) 2, Cape Central 1

Cape Central suffered its second one-goal loss of the season to Carbondale.

After playing to a 0-0 halftime tie, Carbondale scored 13 minutes into the second half and added a penalty kick goal seven minutes later. Chris Cole scored an unassisted goal for Cape Central with 13 minutes left in the game to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Central fell to 8-6-1.

In JV play, Cape Central (3-2-1) blanked Carbondale 4-0. Eric Mayfield, Clint Hoffman, Chris Limbaugh and Whit Lynn scored the Central goals while Paul Miller tallied three assists.

Notre Dame 8, Farmington 2

FARMINGTON -- Six players scored goals as Notre Dame improved to 10-2 with an easy win.

Chris Dirnberger and Oliver Sanders each tallied twice for the Bulldogs while Cory Elfrink, Adam Obermiller, Scott Wittenborn and Bryan Glosemeyer added one goal apiece.

Elfrink had two assists while Sanders, Wittenborn, Glosemeyer and Tim Buerck all had one.

Notre Dame's JV (4-3-2) tied 3-3 as Adam Prasanphanich, Tyler Cuba and Dustin Tatum scored goals.

Jackson 5, Sikeston 2

SIKESTON -- Michael Schuette netted three goals and teammate Joe Weber tallied twice as Jackson rolled to victory.

Jackson (7-5-2) led 2-0 at halftime and built a 4-0 lead before Sikeston found its way on to the scoreboard.

Patrick Kohm accumulated three assists and Tyler Stearns had one.

Jackson (5-1-2) won the JV game 4-0 behind two goals by Trent Forester and one apiece by Mitchell Casteel and Matt Buttry.

VOLLEYBALL

Cape Central 15-13-16

Chaffee 9-15-14

Central held off a Chaffee rally to defeat the Lady Red Devils in a tight third game.

Sarah Pfanstiel led Cape Central (4-12-1) with 19 service points. Katie Cozby hammered eight kills and Sarah Brown finished with seven.

Cape Central's JV won 15-13, 10-15, 15-11.

Jackson 6-15-15

Ste. Genevieve 15-5-9

STE. GENEVIEVE -- Jackson bounced back from only its second loss of the season by winning in three games.

The Lady Indians (16-2-1) had lost to Farmington Monday.

Andrea Koeper had a big match with 16 kills -- including 13 in the last two games -- and 12 blocks. Jennifer Mesey had 13 kills and six blocks.

Also contributing to the victory were Casey Randol (15 assists, three blocks), Sarah Biri (13 assists), Erin Hartman (18 digs) and Jenna Leet (two service aces).

Jackson's JV lost 7-15, 15-4, 15-10, and the Lady Indians' freshmen fell 15-7, 12-15, 15-7.

Woodland 15-15

Scott City 1-7

MARBLE HILL -- Woodland improved to 13-2 on the season and won its fourth match in a row with an easy win.

Woodland's Julia Cutsinger provided six assists and 16 service points, including two aces.

Lilo Whitener had five kills, Jessica Bollinger had four and Sarah Booth had two for the Lady Cardinals.

Woodland's JV won 15-13, 15-3.

Perryville 15-15

Herculaneum 5-8

PERRYVILLE -- Perryville is now 6-11-1 after a two-game victory.

Andrea Buerck paced the Lady Pirates with nine service points, 10 assists and eight digs. Jamie Amberger had seven points and 12 digs while Nicole Blechle added six points, five kills and three digs.

Perryville's JV lost 15-11, 15-5 but the Lady Pirates' freshmen prevailed 15-11, 15-5.

Hillsboro 8-15-15

St. Vincent 15-4-8

HILLSBORO -- St. Vincent rolled in the first game but could not keep up the pace as the Squaws fell to 4-11-2.

Jessica Lakenan paced the Squaws with 15 kills, followed by Danielle Sutterer with eight and Amie Leible with six. Stacie Lane served 10 points, Casey Kirn had 15 assists and Valerie Klaus added 11 assists.

St. Vincent also lost the JV match 15-11, 8-15, 15-8.

Leopold 15-15

Oak Ridge 5-11

LEOPOLD -- Leopold dispatched of Oak Ridge in two games.

Leaders for the Lady Wildcats were Emily Broshuis with six kills; Sarah Gowen with five kills and five assists; Laura Jansen with seven assists; Kelly Wesbecher with seven assists; and Amy Stroder with six digs.

Leopold won the JV match 15-10, 15-6.

Bell City 15-15

Meadow Heights 12-13

BELL CITY -- Jessica Shelby went up for 15 kills and went down for 14 digs as Bell City improved to 7-8-2.

Kelly Steinter led Bell City 19 assists, while Meghan Dover led the Lady Cubs with nine service points.

Southern Missouri Christian 15-7-15

Eagle Ridge Christian 3-15-2

Southern Missouri dropped Eagle Ridge to 0-4 on the season with a three-game victory.

Katie Wisdom had eight service points to pace Eagle Ridge. Kara Ervin added seven points and Rachel Carbaugh had two kills.

Eagle Ridge's JV improved to 3-0 with a 13-15, 15-10, 15-3 victory.
