Ava Johnson scored 18 points and helped Perryville clamp down on defense in the second quarter as the Pirates routed Saxony Lutheran 77-26 in a consolation semifinal at the Saint Francis Medical Center Holiday Classic at the Show Me Center on Thursday.

The Pirates outscored the Crusaders 22-4 in the second quarter, then dumped in another 19 points while limiting Saxony to seven points in the third quarter.

Alisha Kueker added 15 points for Perryville (3-3).

Kara Versemann led Saxony with seven points.

In the other consolation semifinal, Sparta, Ill., shut out Woodland in the fourth quarter in a 51-14 victory.

Becky Brannon and Kayla Acup led the Cardinals with four points apiece.
