Scheible is the Ohio Valley Conference offensive player of the week and Geldbach is the OVC co-specialist of the week, the league announced Sunday. It is the second OVC award of the season for each.

Scheible, a junior quarterback, completed 9 of 10 passes for a season-high 177 yards and three touchdowns, which tied his career high. He also rushed for 89 yards on 20 carries.

Scheible ranks 13th nationally in passing efficiency and third in the OVC in rushing.

Geldbach, a sophomore kicker, accounted for 10 points, hitting both his field-goal attempts -- from 32 and 30 yards -- while making four of five extra points.

Southeast's win over Eastern Kentucky was its first victory over the Colonels in Cape Girardeau. The Redhawks had lost all previous nine meetings against EKU at home.

The Redhawks, ranked 13th nationally, are 7-1 overall and a first-place 6-0 in the OVC. They have won seven straight for the program's longest winning streak since the 1975 squad also won seven in a row.

Southeast will host Tennessee-Martin (4-4, 3-2) at 1 p.m. Saturday for homecoming.
