Jackson's Elijah Pike and Hunter Asher each qualified for state at the Class 4 Sectional 1 boys golf tournament at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri. Pike shot a 3-over-par 75 to finish fifth, and Asher placed 11th with a 6-over-par 78. Joseph Williams' earned the medalist honor with a 1-over-par 73, and Poplar Bluff (315) edged St. Louis University High School (316) for first place in the team standings...

Jackson's Elijah Pike and Hunter Asher each qualified for state at the Class 4 Sectional 1 boys golf tournament at Aberdeen Golf Club in Eureka, Missouri.

Pike shot a 3-over-par 75 to finish fifth, and Asher placed 11th with a 6-over-par 78. Joseph Williams' earned the medalist honor with a 1-over-par 73, and Poplar Bluff (315) edged St. Louis University High School (316) for first place in the team standings.

The Indians finished with a team score of 323. Caleb Likens (84), John Gabler (86) and Ty Legrand (89) also competed for Jackson.

The Class 4 state tournament will take place May 18 and 19 at Sedalia Country Club in Sedalia, Missouri.

Whitfield took first place with a team score of 326, and Lutheran St. Charles finished second at 342. Lutheran St. Charles' Eric Meindl (76) earned medalist honors.

Anton Rhodes (102) and Ben Daniel (105) also competed for the Crusaders, and Kelly's Jacob Riley missed the state-qualifying cut by one stroke at 92.

The Class 2 state tournament is scheduled for May 18 and 19 at Rivercut Golf Course in Springfield, Missouri.
