Southeast Missouri State University's women's tennis team closed out the regular season with a two-game winning streak after Sunday's 5-4 victory over visiting Eastern Kentucky.
The Otahkians, who improved to 6-8 overall and 4-5 in Ohio Valley Conference play, will compete in the OVC Tournament this weekend in Nashville, Tenn.
Izabela Slowikowska, Vicky Wood and Brigitte Stotter won singles matches for the Otahkians while Southeast's doubles teams of Slowikowska-Thais Olive and Wood-Stotter prevailed.
Wood, the Otahkians' lone senior, did not lose a game in her two matches.
"It was great to see Vicky do so well in her last home match," said Southeast coach Donna Ryan.
Looking ahead to the OVC tourney, Ryan said, "I think we can do pretty well. Winning these last two matches should give us us a lot of confidence."
