The postseason honors continued to roll in for Southeast Missouri State baseball players Derek Gibson and Matt Tellor on Wednesday.

Gibson, a first-team All-Ohio Valley Conference selection and Dick Howser Trophy semifinalst for the best player in college baseball, was named a first-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.

His .403 batting average ranked seventh in the nation and his 70 RBIs ranked fifth.

OVC Player of the Year Tellor, who already was named a Louisville Slugger second-team All-American, was named Wednesday an NCBWA second-team All-American.

Tellor batted .386 on the season and had 15 home runs to go with a school-record 71 RBIs.

Tellor was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 10th round of the MLB draft last week. Gibson has declined comment on his future after going undrafted.
