The Southeast Missouri State tennis team sustained its fourth consecutive loss as host Eastern Illinois prevailed 5-2 on Sunday in Charleston, Ill.

Southeast fell to 9-9 overall and 3-4 in the Ohio Valley Conference. EIU improved to 9-4 and 3-4 in the OVC.

The Redhawks' points came from No. 2 Valeria Nagovitcina and No. 6 Melissa Martin in singles play. Nagovitcina defeated Kelly Iden, 6-1, 6-1, while Martin prevailed over Kamile Stadalninkaite, 6-0, 6-2.

Southeast's Valeriia Kashina lost her No. 1 singles match in a tiebreaker, 7-6, 5-7, 1-0 (10-4).

The Redhawks' No. 3 Ekaterina Donetckova (1-6, 1-6), No. 4 Heather Robinson (3-6, 6-7) and No. 5 Annisa Warasanti (3-6, 1-6) all lost in straight sets.

Southeast dropped two of the doubles matches, while the third was not finished.

The Redhawks will face Jacksonville State at 11 a.m. today in Paducah, Ky.
