The Southeast Missouri State volleyball team was on the verge of knocking off regional rival SIU Carbondale on Tuesday night.

But the host Salukis rallied to win the final two games and pull out a 25-17, 22-25, 23-25, 27-25, 15-6 victory.

SIU improved to 9-1, while the Redhawks fell to 6-5.

Brittany Kalinoski led Southeast with 15 kills and a career-high 19 digs.

Redshirt freshman Taylor Masterson recorded a career-high 12 kills and added five blocks.

Emily Coon paced the Redhawks with seven blocks, and Kelsey Keeve added a career-high six blocks.

Setter Julie Shives dished out 40 assists and added 13 digs.

Berkley Idel posted a season-high 27 digs. Samantha Lowman and Karlee Lursen both contributed 16 digs.

Southeast, which is playing its first 16 matches away from home, returns to action this weekend with three contests at the Butler tournament in Indianapolis, Ind. The Redhawks face host Butler Friday, followed by Saturday matches with Kent State and UC-Davis.
