Southeast Missouri State senior first baseman Matt Tellor was named the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week after a weekend power display that featured four home runs at Skyhawk Stadium in Martin, Tenn.

Tellor belted three home runs against Tennessee Martin in Sunday's 11-1 victory. He accounted for the Redhawks' first five runs of the game with a pair of solo home runs and a three-run blast. He also hit a home run in the series opener, a 13-0 victory.

Tellor drove in 11 of the Redhawks' 33 runs in the three-game sweep that strengthened their grip on first place. Southeast improved to 10-2 in the OVC and 9-0 in conference road games.

Tellor, who also had four doubles in Southeast's four games during the week and scored nine runs, leads the OVC with nine home runs and ranks second with 33 RBIs. He is fourth in runs with 28.

He also was named one of Louisville Slugger's National Players of the Week.

Southeast returns to action today when it hosts Arkansas State in a 6 p.m. nonconference game.
