Southeast Missouri State University's softball team wrapped up its recruiting class for the 2002 season recently signing three players, including two from California.

The California recruits are sisters Jamie and Kelly Birk from Huntington Beach.

Jamie Burk, a utility player who can play a variety of infield and outfield positions, is transferring from Long Beach Community College, which won the 2001 California junior college chamionship.

Kelly Birk, a pitcher, will be an incoming freshman after being a four-year starter at Huntington Beach High School.

The third signee is catcher Alicia Loucks, a transfer from Rend Lake (Ill.) Junior College.

Signed last November were catcher Christine Knobbe from Brea, Calif., and pitcher Rachel VanFleet from Bakersfield, Calif.
