Two Southeast Missouri State University baseball players ended up as national Division I statistical leaders when the final rankings were released by the NCAA this week.
Todd Pennington, the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year as a junior, was No. 1 in earned-run average at 1.33. He recently signed with the Cleveland Indians organization and is playing in the New York-Penn Class A Rookie League.
Clemente Bonilla, the OVC Player of the Year as a junior, led the nation in walks as he averaged 1.17 per game based on 61 walks for the season. Bonilla, the school's all-time walks leader, will return to Southeast for his senior season.
