A little more than a thousand tickets remain for the Feb. 11 boys basketball doubleheader at the Show Me Center pitting Oran against Saxony Lutheran and -- for the first time in 38 years -- Sikeston against Scott County Central.

Show Me Center officials announced at the close of business on Monday that 5,763 tickets had been sold and 1,094 remained.

More than 3,700 tickets were purchased on the first day of sales, Friday, and more than 900 tickets were purchased each day Saturday and Monday.

Since the event consists of multiple games, it cannot surpass the state single-game record of 6,458 in 2002 for a game in Springfield between Kickapoo and Glendale.

Southeast Missouri State's largest attendance in the Show Me Center was 7,241 for a game in 2000 against Murray State.
