ST. LOUIS -- Connor Basler threw for 419 yards and five touchdowns to lead Valle Catholic to a 49-25 win over Westran in the Class 1 high school football championship game Friday at the Edward Jones Dome.

Valle (15-0), which has won 30 successive games, claimed its fourth state championship in the last five years and for one day led all Missouri football programs with a record 13 titles overall. Webb City pulled even with the Warriors in that department Saturday with a 48-21 win over Cenral in the Class 4 title game.

Basler hit on 22 of 33 passes. His 65-yard TD pass to Garrett Jaegers in the third quarter put Valle up 28-13. Basler also ran for a score.

Zane Jacoby rushed for three scores for Westran (13-2).

Class 2

Lamar 30, South Callaway 15

Rocky Embry rushed for 78 yards and two scores to help Lamar win its fourth straight Class 2 state title Saturday.

Quarterback Tripp Tucker added 20 carries for 98 yards and also tossed a touchdown pass for Lamar (14-1). The Tigers rushed for 318 yards on 63 carries and finished the season with 5,886 yards rushing.

South Callaway, which made its first trip to the state finals, finished 14-1. Quarterback Troy Hentges completed 18 of 34 for 228 yards and a touchdown for the Bulldogs.

Lamar led 14-7 at half, and Embry made it a two-score game when he ran it in from 5 yards out with 5:41 remaining in the third quarter to make it 21-7.

Class 3

Oak Grove 49 John Burroughs 27

Aaron Graham rushed for 266 yards and four scores to lead Oak Grove to the Class 3 state championship game.

Oak Grove (13-2) claimed its first state title Friday afternoon, while John Burroughs (13-2) has lost in the championship game in four of the last five seasons.

Oak Grove scored 22 points in a span of 4 minutes 11 seconds in the second quarter to go in front for good 29-21.

Graham carried the ball 39 times as the teams combined for a state record 50 points in the first half.

Running back John Moten led John Burroughs with 164 yards rushing.

Class 5

Battle 25, Nixa 22

Darion Hall returned an interception for a touchdown in the third quarter to lead Battle to a 25-22 win over Nixa in the Class 5 state championship game Friday.

Battle (11-4) became the first Missouri team to win a state title in its first year of playoff eligibility. The school, based in Columbia, opened two years ago. It was not eligible for postseason play last season.

Hall's 22 yard interception return put Battle ahead to stay 18-14. Nixa (9-5) used a pair of first-half touchdown runs by Alec Murphy to take a 14-7 lead.

Class 6

CBC 31, Rockhurst 24

ST. LOUIS -- Blake Charlton passed for 220 yards and three scores to lead Christian Brothers College to victory in the Class 6 final.

Michael Million caught two of Charton's touchdown throws.

The win capped an undefeated season for CBC (14-0) and gave the Cadets their first state championship. Hazelwood Central in 2009. Rockhurst finished 12-2.
