DE SOTO -- Nathan Windeknecht explored new horizons Monday.

The Jackson High senior soccer standout, already the owner of several three-goal games this season, knocked in four scores in Jackson's 11-1 demolition of De Soto.

Windeknecht now has an astounding 41 goals this season.

Raju Dirnberger, who posted three goals and four assists, also turned in a solid game. Spencer Knowlan had two goals, and Jimmy Sievers and Tyler Stearns each added one.

Greg Schwab and Chris Kohm each had two assists and Windeknecht, Sievers and Matt Diebold each contributed one.

Jackson is now 16-4-2.

Notre Dame 3, Priory 0

ST. LOUIS -- Though Notre Dame coach Brad Wittenborn said his team "didn't play that well," the Bulldogs beat Priory and are now 14-2-3.

Notre Dame led 1-0 after the first half on a goal from Chris Dirnberger, coming an assist from Zach Miller.

Miller made the score 2-0 in the second half on a pass from Jason Garner, and Adam Obermiller got the final score on an assist from Dirnberger.

Colin Vandergraaf earned the shutout in goal.

Volleyball

Bell City 15-16, Sikeston 7-14

BELL CITY -- Bell City improved to 15-8-1 with its win over Sikeston.

Courtney Brockmeyer paced the Lady Cubs with 12 kills. Kelly Steiner had 10 assists and Brooke Stephens posted eight digs.

St. Vincent 15-15, Leopold 9-11

LEOPOLD -- St. Vincent recorded its second victory in four days over the defending 1A state champions. The Squaws, now 9-13-4, had defeated the Lady Wildcats in the semifinals of the Meadow Heights Volleyball Tournament on Friday.

"We just did a nice job again tonight," said St. Vincent coach Stacie Bauwens. "All the girls are contributing."

St. Vincent's Jessica Lakenan posted eight kills and eight blocks. Valerie Klaus had 14 assists, Casey Kirn totaled 11 assists and Kaci Kutz had six kills.

Emily Broshuis had five kills for Leopold while Jennifer Elfrink had four. Jennifer VanGennip recorded nine digs on defense.

St. Vincent also won the JV contest 16-14, 15-4.

Poplar Bluff 17, Cape Central 10

POPLAR BLUFF -- Poplar Bluff built a 17-0 lead by halftime and held off the Tigers.

Cape Central scored its second-half points on a 43-yard field goal by Brian Emmenforfer and a 3-yard touchdown run by Jeff Dunaway.

Cape Central fell to 4-2 on the season.
