After another bitter cold day and night, warming trend to set in

The National Weather Service is warning that temperatures could plummet to below zero in parts of Southeast Missouri tonight.

The area remains under a cold weather advisory through Tuesday afternoon.

After a bitter cold night, a gradual warm-up is expected, with temperatures rising to about 40 degrees Thursday and Friday with a potential high temperature of 49 on Saturday, according to the NWS.
