Larry Sweitzer

SMITHTON, Ill. -- The funeral for Larry Edward Sweitzer of Smithton will be held at 3 p.m. today at Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden, Ill. Msgr. Tom Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Alto Pass Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home after 1 p.m.

Sweitzer, 48, died Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, at his home.

He was born July 1, 1954, in Anna, Ill., son of Marion E. and Minnie Hicks Sweitzer.

Sweitzer was a graduate of Shawnee College and a member of the basketball team. He was a mechanic, and formerly of Cobden.

Survivors include a son, Chad Sweitzer of Hecker, Ill.; his mother of Anna; five sisters, Marian Steinheimer of New Athens, Ill., Barbara Womack of Belleville, Ill., Fran Holly of Cobden, Carolyn Basse of Jonesboro, Ill., and Shirley Razick of Port St. Lucie, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his father and a son.
