Scherer-Schott

Julie Elizabeth Scherer and Robert Allen Schott were married Sept. 21, 2002, at St. Augustine Catholic Church in Kelso, Mo. The Rev. Oliver Clavin performed the ceremony. Mass servers were Dustin LeGrand, nephew of the bride, and Andrew Rzonca, nephew of the groom. Organist was Betty Ressel and soloist was Bob Ressel, both of Kelso.

Parents of the couple are Vernon and Judy Scherer of Benton, Mo., and Leo and Dorothy Schott of Charleston, Mo.

Maid of honor was Nancy Fairholm of Kelso, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Megan LeGrand of Benton, niece of the bride; Donna Scherer of Kelso and Tina Scherer of Benton, sisters-in-law of the bride; and Cathy Lawson of Gillette, Wyo., sister of the groom.

Danny Kuykendall of Sikeston, Mo., was best man. Groomsmen were Henry Rzonca of St. Louis, Tom Schott of Dallas, Texas, and Terry Schott of Cape Girardeau, all brothers of the groom; and Mickey Smith of Union City, Tenn. Ushers were Chris Scherer of Kelso and Jeff Scherer of Benton, brothers of the bride.

Flower girls were Claire Rzonca and Sophie Schott, nieces of the groom; Kaylee and Kenzie Scherer and Christina Scherer, nieces of the bride. Claire is the daughter of Henry and Beth Rzonca, Sophie is the daughter of Tom and Lynne Schott, Kaylee and Kenzie are daughters of Jeff and Tina Scherer, and Christina is the daughter of Chris and Donna Scherer. Ringbearers were John Scherer, nephew of the bride, and Eric Schott, nephew of the groom. John is the son of Chris and Donna Scherer. Eric is the son of Terry and Kim Schott.

Candlelighters were Megan LeGrand, niece of the bride, and Bryan Schott, nephew of the groom.

Guest book attendants were Callie Schiwitz, Lauren and Katelyn Johnson, cousins of the bride.

Following the ceremony, a dinner and dance reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Scott City. Servers were Kim and Lynne Schott and Beth Rzonca, sisters-in-law of the groom.

The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner Sept. 20 at St. Denis School hall.

Mrs. Scherer is a graduate of Kelly High School, and received a bachelor of science degree in nursing from Southeast Missouri State University. She is a nurse in labor and delivery at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

The groom is a graduate of Charleston High School. He is a lineman with AmerenUE.

After a wedding trip to Venice, Fla., the couple is residing in Scott City.
