Katrina M. "Trina" Krumrie, age 23, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, in Cape Girardeau, in a tragic house fire. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Katrina M. "Trina" Krumrie, age 23, died Tuesday, March 11, 2003, in Cape Girardeau, in a tragic house fire. Friends may call Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral service will be Friday at 10 a.m., at the funeral home, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery. The Rev. Rob Mehner will officiate.

Trina was born July 30, 1979, in Dover, Del., daughter of Wayne and Vicky Shockley. She graduated from Dover High School and moved to Jackson in December 2001. She had been attending Southeast Missouri State University the past year and was working toward a degree in elementary education. She was employed at Applebee's Restaurant in Cape Girardeau and attended LaCroix United Methodist Church.

Loving survivors include her parents; and little sister, Cori, all of Jackson. Cori and Trina, whom Cori called "best big sister," thoroughly enjoyed each other and spent time together as often as possible.

Other survivors are a stepbrother, Wayne Shockley Jr., of Dover; a stepsister, Amy Stup of Massey, Md.; maternal grandparents, Dorothy and Chester Walter of Jackson; paternal grandfather, Bob Shockley of Chestertown, Md.; a maternal aunt, Lisa Walter of Park City, Utah, to whom Trina was very close; and several other aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri and should be clearly marked "In Memory of Katrina Krumrie." Contributions will be received at the funeral home or they can be mailed to 1028 N. Kingshighway, Suite A, Cape Girardeau, Mo. 63701.
