Irene Maria Concordia Niermann Kuebler entered her heavenly home Tuesday, March 18, 2003, at the age of 93 years.

She was born Oct. 1, 1909, in New Orleans, La., daughter of the Rev. Karl and Cora Alice Georg Niermann.

Her holy baptism was Oct. 10, 1909, at the Ev. Lutheran Church in New Orleans by her father, Pastor Karl Niermann. Her godparents were Maria Waihmann, Concordia Waihmann, Herman Niermann and Rosa Niermann. Her confirmation was March 25, 1923, at Ev. Lutheran Church in Cole Camp, Mo., by her father, Pastor Karl Niermann.

Miss Irene Niermann and Fred Ives Kuebler were married Sept. 19, 1964, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kansas City, Jackson County, Mo.

She was employed at Southwestern Bell Telephone and AT&T Communications 42 years, retiring in 1974.

She moved to Cape Girardeau to Chateau Girardeau from Kansas City to be near her sister, Esther Windisch and her family in 1990.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, the Rev. Henry and Hugo Niermann; three sisters, Lydia Flucken, Hulda Niermann and Esther Windisch. Her husband Fred died June 3, 1984.

Survivors include a stepson, John Kuebler and wife Cecile; a stepdaughter, Marian Clark, all of Wisconsin; several stepgrandchildren and great-stepgrandchildren. Also many nieces and nephews survive, including Kenny Windisch, Esther Windisch Gray, Carolyn Windisch Gaither, and Ranata Windisch, all of Cape Girardeau.

Christian funeral service for Mrs. Kuebler will be March 20, 2003, at 6 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to service, at Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where she was a member since 1990. The Rev. Barry Pfanstiel will officiate.

The organist for the service, Dorothy Evans, is accompanying the congregation as they sing "Abide With Me," "I'm But A Stranger Here, Heaven Is My Home," and "How Great Thou Art." Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Concordia, Mo., at 1 p.m. Friday, March 21, 2003, where graveside rites will be conducted by her nephew, the Rev. John Niermann of Kansas City, Mo.

Pallbearers will be Gary Gray, Sean Gray, Brian Gray, Jaime Niswonger, Chad Windisch and Quentin Gaither.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family requests memorials be given to Good Shepherd Lutheran Chapel Building Fund or to Southeast Hospice.
