Thebes, Ill. -- M-V Joe Walker collides in morning with railroad bridge across Mississippi River; vessel, which is owned by Walker Towing Co., of Paducah, Ky., has hole punched in its hull during accident.

Oran, Mo. -- Construction has begun on new theater building for Oran; Bernard Tenkhoff will be operator; building will be on lot formerly occupied by Heisserer store, which was destroyed by fire last summer.

Advance, Mo. -- High-test gasoline, pouring out of overturned transport truck into roadside ditch, creates hazard on Highway 25 at Advance at its junction with Highway 91 from mid-afternoon until late in evening; danger is further heightened as bulk of gasoline is pumped from one truck to another and as wreckers seek to upright huge tractor-trailer.

Civic Sunday services, under auspices of Ministerial Alliance and Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, are held in evening at Teachers College auditorium; the Rev. C.D. Latrop, vice president of Ministerial Alliance, presides.

At Christ Evangelical Church, confirmation class is presented before congregation at morning service; no sermon is preached by minister, but instead children of class give testimony of things they have learned.
