Past national president Glenneta Vogelsang and national director Judy Thrower, both of Cape Girardeau and members of Clippard, Wilson, Taylor Auxiliary No. 3838, joined other key leaders of the Ladies Auxiliary to the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States at its 2003 national mid-year conference in Port Canaveral, Fla., recently.
The highlight of the four-day conference will be the VIP recognition given to the department presidents who achieved a goal of 85 percent, membership by Dec. 31. All 51 presidents won the special honors this year and will receive a medallion from national president Betty Morris of Aberdeen, Md.
The Ladies Auxiliary VFW is showing support for America's active duty military personnel by providing free long-distance telephone cards to them and support for their families at home.
The 671,501 members of the auxiliary are wives, mothers, daughters and other female relatives of those who have served overseas during a war. For more information, visit the Web site at www.ladiesaux vfw.com.
