DONGOLA, Ill. -- Ivan Samuel Calvin, 75, of Dongola died Tuesday, March 25, 2003, at his son's home in Marine, Ill.

He was born Dec. 28, 1927, in Granite City, the son of William and Rosie Pettet Calvin. He married Lois Mae Goines on July 6, 1949.

He was retired from the Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was a member of the Wetaug Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, three sons, Sammie Calvin of Granite City, Stanley Calvin of Marine and Norman Calvin of Troy, Ill.; two daughters, Nancy Squires of Granite City and Glenda Deahl of San Antonio, Texas; two sisters, Bertha Macios of Granite City and Bernice Caldwell of Magnolia, Ark.; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a son.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and on Saturday until time of services at Crain Funeral Home in Dongola.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Ronnie Gulley officiating.

Burial will be at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Dongola.
