PAINTON, Mo. -- Elizabeth Wondel, 88, of Painton died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau. She was born July 29, 1914, at Delta, daughter of Charles and Rosie Welker Surface. She and Emory Wondel were married Nov. 2, 1932, at Benton, Mo. She was born July 29, 1914, at Delta, daughter of Charles and Rosie Welker Surface. She and Emory Wondel were married Nov. 2, 1932, at Benton, Mo. He died April 16, 1987.
Wondel was a member of Arbor General Baptist Church.

Survivors include four sons, Emory Wondel of Wright City, Mo., Walter Wondel of Warrenton, Mo., Donald Wondel of Painton, Ronald Wondel of O'Fallon, Mo.; two daughters, Betty McKee of Painton, Evelyn Italiano of St. Charles, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, a granddaughter, four sisters and three brothers.
Friends may call at Morgan Funeral Home in Advance, Mo., from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Bob Bradford and Kermet Patton will officiate. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Gardens at Morley, Mo.
