Public hearings

Held a public hearing regarding the request of Cape Retirement Community Inc. for a special-use permit for an on-site banking facility for First Missouri State Bank at 3120 Independence St. in an R-4, multiple family residential district.

Held a public hearing regarding the request of Midamerica Hotels Corporation for a special use permit for a four-story motel at 3257 William St. in a C-2, general commercial district.Consent ordinances

(Second and third readings)

Established the boundaries of a lateral sewer district to serve Silverthorne Subdivision south of Bouldercrest Drive.

Approved the record plat of Silverthorne Subdivision.New ordinances

Approved the record plat of St. Jude's First Subdivision, a commercial subdivision in the 300 block of South Silver Springs Road.

Approved the record plat of Clarkton Place Subdivision Phase Six in the 3500 block of Hopper Road.

Withdrew an ordinance appropriating funds for a destination marketing study for the Convention and Visitors Bureau to allow details to be finalized.

Granted a special-use permit to Cape Retirement Community Inc., d/b/a Chateau Girardeau, for an on-site banking facility at 3120 Independence.

Granted a special use permit to Midamerica Hotels Corporation for purposes of razing the existing Holiday Inn and constructing a Holiday Inn Express motel at 3257 William St.

Accepted a permanent easement for a water main extension to serve the Independence West Commercial Subdivision on West Drive.

Entered into an agreement with the Cape Girardeau Jaycees for the donation of the real estate comprising the Jaycee Municipal Golf Course and the adjacent property to the city of Cape Girardeau.

Resolution

Executed a contract with A and J Excavating to demolish a condemned structure at 1501 Johnson St.

Appointments

Appointed Lance Gragg to the Golf Course Advisory Board.

Appointed Dennis Bess, Robyn Mainor, Robin Seiler Oberle, Jeff Brune and Betty Voss to the Historic Preservation Commission.

Liquor license

Granted conditional approval of a retail liquor by the drink license and Sunday sales license for O'Charley's Inc., d/b/a O'Charley's, 3093 William St.

Other

Accepted sanitary sewer improvements completed under the Sloan Relief Sewer portion of the Sewer Improvement Program, Phase II, and authorized final payment to Mid-America Services Inc.

Accepted improvements to the city's water treatment system and authorized final payment to Brotcke Well & Pump.

Accepted the North Mount Auburn water main extension, from the existing 14-inch line on Gordonville Road north on Mount Auburn to near Wisteria, and authorized final payment to Robinson Construction Co.

Accepted into the city's system an 8-inch sanitary sewer extension to serve DSWD Independence Subdivision No. 1, and released the guarantee covering the improvement.

Accepted an 8-inch water main extension to serve DSWD Independence Subdivision No. 1.

Accepted into the city's system the effluent from the Cape Girardeau Conservation Campus sanitary sewer line.
