Gladys Bollinger Moore, 79, of Fruitland died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at her home.

She was born July 26, 1923, at Bell City, Mo., daughter of Lon and Grace Loftin Bollinger. She and Clifford Ray Moore were married June 4, 1955, in Hernando, Miss. He preceded her in death May 14, 1977.

Mrs. Moore had worked at McDonnell-Douglas Aircraft Co. in St. Louis. She owned and operated Moore's Grocery at Indian Creek, and the Auction Barn Restaurant in Fruitland. She and her husband raised, trained and showed registered quarter horses, and were instrumental in bringing the American Quarter Horse Association to Southeast Missouri.

Survivors include a sister, Martha Rasmussen of Fruitland; a brother, Will Roy Bollinger of Cape Girardeau; and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and two brothers.

Friends may call at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the chapel. The Rev. Rocky Tallent will officiate. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Bell City.

Pallbearers will be James Rasmussen, Lloyd Bollinger, James Bollinger, Michael Bollinger, Ronald Ketterer, Roger P. Moore, J. Matthew Moore, and Scott Amick.
