Theodore H. "Ted" Hudson, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Missouri Veterans Home. He was born Aug. 1, 1928, at St. Mary, Mo., son of Jesse V. and Theresa Ann Holland Hudson. Theodore H. "Ted" Hudson, 74, of Cape Girardeau died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, at Missouri Veterans Home.

He was born Aug. 1, 1928, at St. Mary, Mo., son of Jesse V. and Theresa Ann Holland Hudson.

Hudson had been a bus driver with JPL in Pasadena, Calif., and a truck driver with Friget Freeze Ice Creams and Knudson Dairy Co. He was a member of American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, AmVets, and Eagles.

He served in the U.S. Army from May 1950 to May 1953, and in the U.S. Marine Corps from August 1959 to April 1967. While stationed in Vietnam he received the Vietnam Service Medal and five Good Conduct Medals.

Survivors include a brother, Mark Hudson of Fredericktown, Mo.; three sisters, Dorothy Schario of St. Louis, Ruth Coffelt of Perryville, Mo., and Beatrice Zahner of Silver Lake, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 13 brothers and sisters.

Friends may call at Young and Sons Funeral Home in Perryville from 5 to 9 p.m. today, and Saturday after 6:30 a.m. The American Legion wake will be at 7 tonight, and VFW wake at 7:15.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Brice Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Fork Cemetery, with military graveside rites by American Legion Post 133.
