Robert F. Terry, 74, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis. He was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Patrick and Estelle Frenzel Fitzgerald. He and Vesta Estes were married May 25, 1957. She preceded him in death April 8, 1982. Robert F. Terry, 74, of Ste. Genevieve, Mo., died Sunday, April 20, 2003, at St. Mary's Health Center in St. Louis.

He was born Sept. 20, 1928, in Cape Girardeau, son of Patrick and Estelle Frenzel Fitzgerald. He and Vesta Estes were married May 25, 1957. She preceded him in death April 8, 1982. He and Lynn Rose were married June 15, 1985, in Ste. Genevieve.

He was a retired teacher, principal and coach with the Ste. Genevieve County R-II School District, where he served from 1960 to 1993. Prior to teaching in Ste. Genevieve, he taught at Oak Ridge, Mo., and Thebes, Ill. He was a graduate of Central High School and Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau. He also studied at the University of Colorado in Fort Collins, Colo., and the University of Hawaii. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1037, the Secondary Principal's Association and Ste. Genevieve school board for nine years.

He also served in the National Guard.

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Connie Arnold, Greta Basler and Becky Clifton, all of Ste Genevieve; two sons, Todd Rose of Jefferson City, Mo., and Craig Rose of Weingarten, Mo.; a sister, Billy Jeanne Roth of Bradenton, Fla.; and four grandchildren.

Funeral services were Wednesday at the Catholic Church of Ste. Genevieve with the Rev. Greg Schmidt officiating. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau. Wood Family Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
