The Rev. Roger L. Leveillee, 53, died Tuesday, May 6, 2003, of cancer.

He was born March 30, 1950, in Providence, R.I., son of Donald O. and Estelle Larocque Leveillee.

Leveillee was ordained June 9, 1979, in West Warwick, R.I., for the Diocese of Springfield-Cape Girardeau by then Bishop Bernard F. Law.

He served as associate pastor at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau from 1979 to 1981. He was appointed pastor at St. Teresa Parish in Glennonville, Mo., July 1, 1981, and while serving there was appointed administrator for St. Ann's Parish in Malden, Mo., May 2, 1984.

Leveillee was appointed pastor for St. Joseph Parish in Scott City Aug. 19, 1986, and was appointed pastor for St. Eustachius Parish in Portageville, Mo., Aug. 17, 1993. In addition to responsibilities for the Portageville parish, he was appointed canonical pastor for St. Cecilia Parish in Kennett, Mo., Aug. 17, 1999.

He had been pastor of St. Canera Parish in Neosho, Mo., St. Mary Parish in Seneca, Mo., and Nativity Parish in Noel, Mo., since August 2001.

Survivors include three brothers, Rene Leveillee of West Warwick, Ronald and David Leveillee of Coventry, R.I.; two sisters, Denise Plante and Elaine Harrison of West Warwick.

Friends may call at St. Canera Church after 6 p.m. Thursday. A prayer service will be held at 7.

The Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Agnes Cathedral in Springfield, Mo., with Bishop John J. Leibrecht officiating. Burial will be at a later date in St. Joseph Cemetery in West Warwick.

Clark Funeral Home in Neosho is in charge of arrangements.
